Resounding Joy Ministries (RJM) is deeply committed to serving the community of Portsmouth and the greater Hampton Roads area. We actively support and collaborate with local organizations to strengthen families, uplift individuals, and meet the needs of our community. RJM offers a variety of ministries and ministry teams, as outlined in our Church Volunteers Handout, designed to impact lives both inside and outside the church. All members are invited and expected to serve, working together to fulfill the mission of the Church through unity, service, and outreach.

RJM is a member of the Christian Community. This means that we voluntarily associate with like-minded churches for the advancement of the gospel of Jesus Christ. RJM works with other local churches through the Virginia Association of Christians Churches.

At Resounding Joy Ministries (RJM), our spirituality is grounded in the belief that the entire Bible is the true and complete Word of God, written by men who were divinely inspired by God. We embrace its teachings as the foundation for our faith, doctrine, and daily living, trusting it to guide us in truth and righteousness. We believe in the Lordship of Jesus Christ as the Shepherd and Head of the Church, who governs all things according to His will. RJM operates under a sovereign and theocratic Christian polity, meaning that under Christ’s authority and the leadership of the Senior Pastor and Executive Council, the church retains the exclusive right of self-government. This structure ensures that all decisions and direction remain prayerfully guided, biblically grounded, and Christ-centered.
